Hi everyone, this is Shelby posting. Steamboat Springs is one of our favorite places in Colorado. It is one of those wonderful Colorado mountain towns that is perfect in Summer and in Winter (and for different reasons). It is only about 3.5 hours from Denver to Steamboat, so its worth going even for just a few days. We spent the long MLK weekend playing in the snow with friends – here are the highlights.

We found a great house on Airbnb. We chose this condo because it was close to the slopes (for Zach) and it had great amenities – a hot tub, shuttle to and from the slopes and town, a fireplace, and a gourmet kitchen.

Zach hit the slopes for the best powder ski days he has had in his life.

The non-skiers went snowshoeing in a winter wonderland at Rabbit Ears Pass.

The next day it snowed even more!

Each day we would wake up and make breakfast together in the morning, then do our own thing during the day, and meet up back at the house around 4pm for happy hour. Zach made specialty cocktails and I brought my homemade original Chex Mix.

There were three couples and each night one of the couples was in charge of making dinner for everyone. We all got really into it and the meals turned out great!

One afternoon we went to Strawberry Hot Springs. This is one of my favorite places in Colorado (and the World).

Something wintery to leave you with:
